The Carlsbad 5k is known as the “Worlds Fastest 5k” and rightfully so.  This course is fast.  In the past 24 years, there has been 16 world records completed on this course.  It seems like each year, the talent becomes better and faster.  12,000 runners participate in this 5k every year. The winner of the 5k receives $5,000, 2^nd place receives $3,500, and 3^rd place receives $2,000.  This 5k is held in the middle of April most years, which means perfect climate to run.

Flat, fast and fun! This scenic course features two miles along the cool Pacific with an exciting finish in the heart of Carlsbad. The course is USATF sanctioned and certified.

Water stations are located at the Start, Finish, and along the course. There are also clocks and timers at every mile.
